Ex-servicemen of the Peter Keenan Longford Branch, ONE turned out on Sunday to remember the 284 local men who died in World War I.

Fr Bernard Healy and Rev David Catterall presided over a short prayer service, which was followed by James Airlie and Michael Fitzpatrick of ONE reading passages from ‘The Fallen’. The ceremony continued with the laying of wreaths, the sounding of the last post, and a lament played by a lone piper, before the Longford Pipe Band concluded the ceremony with Amhran na bhFiann.
