Theft at Market Square

Centra Supermarket, on the Market Square, Longford, was the centre of a theft on Friday, August 10, between 7pm and 7.30pm. A male went to the check-out with two cases of Bulmers. He placed one on the counter, and one on the floor. He paid for one case and left with both. The suspect was described as being of solid build with a tattoo on his upper back. He was identified as being Irish.

Wednesday, August 8, between 9am and 3pm, a black solid fuel stone with a boiler was stolen from an outhouse. Valued at approximately €1,000, the theft took place in the Moydow/Castlerea area. A quantity of copper piping was taken, valued at approximately €100. There are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardaí in Longford on 043-3350570.

A resident at Oaklands Drive, Ballinalee Road, awoke to see a male break the rear-window of his car on Sunday, August 12. Although nothing was taken, the Renault Scenic was damaged. The culprit ran away and got into a Ford Focus, which he used to flee the scene.

On Thursday August 9, once again near Ballinalee Road, an incident took place at 9.40pm at Oakvale. A 09 Ford Focus car was damaged. Nothing was taken.
