Sligo / Longford Rail Service disruption

Iarnrod Eireann passengers were left stranded this morning (Friday March 12) when the 07.00hrs Sligo to Dublin railway service was cancelled.

According to Iarnrod Eireann, the disruption is due to "a signaling telecoms fault" on the Sligo line.

Currently all services on the Sligo / Dublin line are running between 15 minutes and 40 minutes late.

"We expect this to be resolved by lunchtime today in time for the evening services," says a spokesperson for Iarnrod Eireann.

Full service details will be published on the Iarnrod Eireann website.

In response to the cancelled and delayed services, Iarnrod Eireann has arranged bus pickups at Carrick on Shannon, Dromod, Longford, Edgeworthstown and Mullingar.
