A second man has died following an accident at Connacht Gold hardware store in Longford town today, Tuesday. The accident took place after 2pm today when an internal wall collapsed in the store, which is based on the Athlone Road.

A local man in his 40s died earlier today after the wall collapsed at the store. Earlier this evening, it was confirmed that a second man had died from injuries sustained in the tragic accident. Three other people were taken to hospital followopejing the incident.

The scene was preserved and investigations are underway into the cause of the tragedy.
