Rathowen garda station meeting

Rathowen Community Development will host a meeting to discuss the closure of the local garda station, which will shut on January 31. The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 7 at 8.30pm in Rathowen Community Centre.

Garda Damien McCormack, who will transfer to Multyfarnham after the station closes, will be present to inform the local community on future arrangements for the area. Local councillor Avril Whitney will also be in attendance.

Also on the agenda for that evening is the establishment of a text alert service, which will allow local residents to report suspicious activity.
