Petition: Put Longford on the (Google) Map

Last Friday, the Longford Leader drew attention to the omission of Longford by the wizards behind Google Maps.

Longford, a historic town and the largest urban area in county, is relegated to the status of an insignificant townland, while the undoubtably pleasant Prospect Wood, a housing estate on the outskirts of the town built only a decade ago, is given an astonishing prominence.

Sign our petition and help end this outrage. We’re seeking 1,000 signatures by 17 August. Hopefully then the impersonal Google Maps machine will be forced to listen.
