Here are the headlines from this week’s Longford Leader.

Cllr Tony Flaherty has sttod by comments attributed to him in a controversial Sunday Business Post article at the weekend. The article, written by Longford native, Peter Geoghegan argued there is a major heroin epidemic in Longford Town.

We examine the Gleann Riada estate saga, detailing the follies and missteps that have led it to its current sorry pass.

In sport, we analyse Longford’s impressive First Round Qualifier win over Derry and we look back at Longford Town’s remarkable 5-4 win over Mervue United on Friday night which keeps them at the top of the First Division.
