NAMA role in social housing

It has been confirmed that buildings owned by NAMA could be made available for social housing purposes.

Minister of State, Jan Sullivan, provided clarification in response to a question submitted by Fine Gael Longford/Westmeath TD, Nicky McFadden.

Deputy McFadden had requested details on the number of properties in Longford and Westmeath that NAMA had identified as being suitable for such projects.

In her response, Minister Sullivan said 31 houses in Longford, and 32 in Westmeath had been deemed suitable by the agency. She added that, “Currently, demand has been confirmed for 18 of these properties and negotiations are proceeding.”
