exciting events: LCRL is promoting integration in Co. Longford through two exciting events in November. RACE AWARENESS TRAINING will be delivered by Dr Jean-Pierre Eyanga on Thursday 22nd November from 10am to 4pm at the EDI Centre, Mastertech Business Park, food will be served! This event is free and everyone is welcome! The Longford International Forum Exchange (L.I.F.E) is hosting an International Event on Saturday 24th November from 3pm - 6pm in Kelleher’s, Main Street, Longford. The theme of the event is “Thanksgiving”. Entertainment will consist of Brazilian, Indian and Latvian dancers, Irish musicians, African singers, to name but a few...Entrance is free and finger food and refreshments will also be provided. Many local businesses kindly donated amazing spot prizes for the raffle. Please come along to this fantastic intercultural event and promote integration and a better way of living together in Longford. Acorn Drop-in Centre: LCRL/Acorn Drop-in Centre offers addiction counseling in conjunction with Merchants Quay Ireland and Anna Liffey Drugs Project.  The project also offers bereavement and relationship counseling provided by our generic Counsellor.  All of the Counselors and support workers at Acorn are fully qualified and uphold the highest standards in terms of professionalism and confidentiality.

Friendly Phone Call Service: The Friendly Phone Call Service is a free service for older people. The aim of the service is to provide information on local activities and services available to older people as well as an opportunity for a friendly chat. The Friendly Call Service can be reached at 043-3349678 from Monday – Thursday from 10:00am – 4:00pm.

Rural Development Programme (RDP) - LEADER: If you have an idea for a business/project within County Longford or you would like to develop an existing business you may be eligible for grant aid. If farming is no longer an adequate source of income and you have an innovative initiative in mind for your land/farm buildings you may be eligible for funding under the RDP. If you or your local community group would like to develop your local area/village or you have you an environmental initiative in mind you or your group may be eligible for RDP grant assistance.
