League hopes dashed by Mick O'Dwyer's Wicklow

Longford's slim hopes of staying in contention for promotion from division 4 football this season were finally dashed by Wicklow in Pearse Park on Sunday.
Glenn Ryan's side were ahead at half-time by three points, but a very different Wicklow emerged after the break,and it was Mick O'Dwyer's charges that held on in the end to claim the one point victory.
A dull and scrappy first half was followed by a much more intense second period,and three goals in the space of less than three minutes gave the small Pearse Park crowd something to cheer about.
Decisively, two of those goals went to Wicklow and even the introduction of Paul and David Barden couldn't help Longford to get within sight of the winning post.
