Focus switches to Leinster Championship after Wicklow defeat
Longford's division 4 league campaign is effectively over for this season.
Any hope of achieving promotion is now gone after Wicklow left Pearse Park with a one point win.
After the controversy over the defeat to Limerick; coming so close to taking full points from Waterford; and pushing Wicklow to within just a single score; it's not hard to understand the frustration and disappointment that dominated the Longford dressing room on Sunday afternoon last.
There's still the Kilkenny, Leitrim and London games to come, but with there's nothing to play for now only places on starting team for the Leinster Championship.
That game against Louth is two months away.
