Final preparations for fashion gala

Tickets have now gone on sale for the biggest event in the Longford Fashion Calendar!

The Longford Fashion Show will take place on Sunday October 25 next at Club Blue and following in the footsteps of last year's great success, it promises to be even bigger and better this year.

This year the Longford Fashion Show is also the biggest makeover event of the year too! Some 20 people were selected from a large group of entrants to partake in a makeover which will transform them free of charge into catwalk models. Already their hair styling is underway at Cheveubelle and Hair on the Go Mobile Hairdressing.

Make-up will be provided by 5th Avenue, Angela Reynolds and Kelly O'Dowd, while the clothes are supplied by Clara Ellen and Brendan's Menswear.

"We are delighted with the response so far," says Paula Fitzpatrick, Entertainment Manager at PV's and one of the co-ordinators of the Longford Fashion Show. "It was really difficult choosing which entrants to select as models. However, we have chosen a group that we believe will provide a varied catwalk for our fashion show audience."

Tickets cost €10 per person and each person will receive a goody bag on the evening.

All funds raised go towards the Irish Air Ambulance and on the night of the Longford Fashion Show there will be a flight simulator from the Irish Air Ambulance located in the carpark at the back of PVs. Ticket holders will be able to take a turn in the simulator on a first come first serve basis.

In addition to the makeover models, flight simulator and the fashion show itself, there will also be music on the night by the Jackson Five.

"It will be a fun-filled evening of entertainment starting at 6pm and running through the night to midnight," says Paula. "There will be spot prizes and something of interest for everyone in the audience." Compere on the night will be the inimitable Tom O'Brien.

For further information you can contact Melissa on 087-9424661 or Paula on 087-2989933.

Next week's Leader will feature a 'sneak peek' of the models as they prepare for their makeovers for the big date on Sunday October 25.
