Schools Re-opening: Moyne CS - Tuesday 31st 1st, 2nd, 4th years and LCA (Year 1) –no transition years. Wednesday 1st September Open for all (except repeat Leaving Certs). Thursday 2nd September All students.

St. Mary's NS Drumlish: Opening Wednesday 1st September – Office open from August 30th

St. Patrick's NS Ballinamuck: Opening Tuesday 31st August.

I would like to wish all the teachers, staff and pupils every blessing for the new school year and say a special welcome to all the young people from the parish starting school for the first time. I would also like to include all the parents of the children and the respective Boards of Management of the different schools. I hope the coming school year is a successful one for all concerned.

First Friday

Next Friday is the First Friday of September – Ballinamuck calls will be made on Wednesday and Thursday while Drumlish will be made on Friday.

St. Joseph's Young Priests Society

A meeting of the above will be help in the Parochial House Drumlish on Thursday September 2nd – Anybody interested in setting up a committee for a local branch of the SJYPS please attend.

Pilgrimage

The above takes place next Sunday with the Anointing of the sick at 2.30pm. A bus will leave Ballinamuck at 10.30am and Drumlish at 10.40am.

Recent Wedding

Congratulations to Susan Ball and Timothy Hester who were married on Friday August 27th in St. Patrick's Church Ballinamuck. We join their families and friends in wishing Susan and Timothy every blessing and happiness for the future.

Kilmahon Cemetery

A meeting of all people with connections to Kilmahon Cemetery took place place in the '98 Hall Ballinamuck on August 26th – A new committee was formed at the meeting. Ballinamuck

Music School

The above will take place in the studio above Breslin's Gala Shop in Ballinamuck. It will provide lessons for children and adults. Tuition will be given in Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Accordion, Drums etc. Information contact Enda Mc Kenna on 087-9980615.

Peace Garden Annual Memorial Mass

The above will take place on Saturday September 4th at 7.00pm in the Peace Garden Ballinamuck – weather permitting.

Social Club

A committee meeting will be held on Monday August 30th at 9.30pm. People travelling on the outing on Sunday September 5th are requested to have the balance on payment made before August 27th to any committee member – Adrian Lennon, Bridie Reilly, Tess Breslin, Betty Creegan, Mary Gillooley, Sheila Blake, or Dympna Davis. The bus will leave Ballinamuck at 8.30am and Drumlish (Church) at 8.45am on the 5th – 3 seats still available.

Marquee in Drumlish

The committee of the Marquee in Drumlish 2010 would like to thank sincerely everyone who helped in any way in the build up to, and during this year's Festival.

We would especially like to thank the members of FR. Manning Gaels; St. Vincent's Minor Club; St. Helen's Ladies Football Club; Midland Motor Club; Drumlish Tidy Towns; Nertney Electrical; '98 Hall Committee Ballinamuck; Longford County Council; Fs Workers; Vintage Club; An Garda Siochna especially Gda's Justin Browne and Donal Madden; Drumlish ICA; The Cassidy, Greene and Gray Families for the use of their lands; Exhibitors at the Fair Day; The Bingo and Family Fun day. Finally, Thank you to the people of Drumlish and Ballinamuck for their help and support. Sincerest apologies if we have omitted anyone. Preparations are already underway for the Festival of the "Marquee in Drumlish 2011".

Ballinamuck Bingo continues on Tuesday nights at 9.00pm in '98 Hall Ballinamuck. All are welcome, and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Recent Deaths

Kavanagh - The death took place at Our Lady's Manor Edgeworthstown on August 20th of Mrs Lizzie Rose Kavanagh(nee Quinn) Cloonaugh Drumlish (in her 104th year) To her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends we extend our deepest and sincere sympathy. Ellie Rose was laid o rest in Clonbroney Cemetery. Go ndana Dia Trcaire ar a n-anaim dls.
