Longford Fine Gael TD James Bannon said this week that the deal agreed between the Government and the European Central Bank to ease the debt burden on the Irish people from the Anglo promissory notes has delivered a significant boost to Ireland’s economic future and the potential for economic growth in Longford/Westmeath.

“I welcome the deal on behalf of everyone in Longford/Westmeath. In doing so, I recognise the potential knock-on impact on investment in the Midlands. The deal agreed between the Government and the ECB is a hugely significant step forward in our economic recovery.”
