Council honours participants in the National Pride of Place Competition
Longford County Council honoured the three local National Pride of Place participants at a recent council meeting.
The competition is hosted by Co-operation Ireland, in conjunction with the all-island Local Authority Steering Forum comprising officials from authorities in both parts of Ireland. The competition seeks to celebrate the work of local groups. Longford County Council nominated Rathmhuire and Dolmen Services, Temperance Hall Committee and Ennybegs Hall Committee to represent County Longford.
Co Mayor Cllr Sean Farrell presented Rathmhuire & Dolmen Services with a special award for their outstanding achievement in winning an award in the category services to the elderly. Ennybegs Hall and the Temperance Hall Committees were also presented with Co-operation Ireland Certificates marking their participation in the Competition. On behalf of Longford County Council, Cllr Sean Farrell thanked the groups for their tremendous effort in representing County Longford in the competition.
