Co Longford man killed in car crash

A Co Longford man in his early '70s died in traffic accident in Frenchpark, Co Roscommon yesterday, Wednesday, evening. The man was killed following a collision between two vehicles on the Boyle Road, Frenchpark at 6.20pm.

Four occupants of a car, two men and two women all believed to be from Longford, were brought to Roscommon Hospital after the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a van. The elderly man was pronounced dead in the hospital.

According to Gardai, the driver of the van was not seriously injured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any information is asked to contact Castlerea Garda station on 094-9621630.
