Charity fashion show returns
Let the hairdressers, beauty therapists and clothing stylists of Longford work their magic on you! This year's Longford Fashion Show, held in association with PVs of Longford, will transform 30 regular Longfordians into catwalk models. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed, so grab a form and get your application in now!
People of all shapes and sizes are eligible to apply to win the makeover experience of their lives. "This will be a really fun event," says Melissa Belton, owner of Cheveubelle Hair Salon and also one of the co-ordinators of the Longford Fashion Show.
Now in its second year, the Longford Fashion Show is also a strong fundraising event for the Irish Air Ambulance. "Last year we raised €3,361, which we were delighted with," says Melissa.
This year the show promises to be an even bigger and better event than the year before.
"There is a lot more involved this year," says Melissa. "Last year we just did a fashion show. This year we have the makeover contestants. In the week running up to the event all the makeover contestants will have to get their hair done, their tans etc. There will also be rehearsals too. It is going to be a lot of fun and it's all free of charge."
To enter, simply pick up a nomination form in PVs. The details for the form are name, address, contact details and the name of the person nominating - you can put forward a friend or relative.
Hair styling will be undertaken by Cheveubelle and Hair on the Go Mobile, while make-up will be provided by 5th Avenue, Angela Reynolds and Kelly O'Dowd. Clothes are supplied by Clara Ellen and Brendan's Menswear.
