Ballymahon incidents investigated

Gardaí in Longford have confirmed that they are continuing to investigate an incdient in Ballymahon two weeks ago in which a number of people were assaulted.

Anumber of people were arrested in respect of the matter and the Leader understands that a file is currently being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a local filling station in Ballymahon was targeted by thieves last week. A number of cars parked along the town’s main thoroughfare were also vandalised last week.

Gardaí have confirmed that they are investigating these incidents and are appealing to the public for any assistance they can provide.
