LAST TRAIN IN BALLINAMORE Ballinamore railway station opened 24th October 1887.

It finally closed on the 1st of April 1959. it was part of the Narrow Guage Cavan & Leitrim Railway and was the Hub of the Line. With the Locomotive Depot and Works. It was the point where the Line from Dromod through Mohill, Fenagh & Ballinamore to Belturbet branches to Kiltubrid, Drumshanbo and Arigna.

Copies of this DVD can be purchased for 10 euro in Gala, Murphy's, Kavanagh's, Post Office and Joey Smith's.

ACTIVE AGE

Next meeting of the Group will take place on Thursday 16th September 2010 at 3.00 p.m. It is hoped to confirm suitable days and times for both Swimming and Aqua Aerobic Classes which will commence at Riversdale Pool the following week. Our Annual Arts Day will take place in the Bush Hotel on Monday 11th October 2010. An outline of the day's events will be discussed. The names of five of our Members who are interested in attending will be confirmed. We look forward to seeing you all. New Members are welcome to attend.

FUNDRAISER

Teresa McCabe Memorial Darts Singles Tournament in the Poor Scholar, Ballinamore on Saturday 11th Sept. Names taken from 6pm. starts @ 8.30pm sharp. Congratulations to our under 14 boys and Minor Girls on their great victories this week. Draw for All Ireland Tickets - The club is running a draw with a very exciting first prize of two tickets to the All Ireland Football Finals with overnight accommodation. Tickets at 5 euro each or a book of 5 tickets for 20 euro are being sold by the club's underage players. The draw will take place in Prior's Lounge on 11 September. Faigh do thicid gan mhoill.

New season starts Tuesday 7th Sept, enrolment on Thursday 26th Aug between 8 – 9pm in LaNua, Main St. boys and girls from 10yrs up are very welcome.

DANCING CLASSES

Dancing classes in Riversdale, Ballinamore recommence after the summer break Wednesday Sept 8th at 5p.m. Classes suit girls and boys 5 to 16 years and include a variety of Set, Ceili and Modern dance. IRISH DANCING

Irish dancing classes under the direction of Karl Mc Cartin ODCRN, will be held in Drumreilly Community Centre on Tuesday and Thursday commencing 14th September and Ballinamore Community Centre on Saturday 18th September. SCOUTS

1st Leitrim Scouts would like to set up two new units within their group this year, Beaver Scouts to facilitate children of 6 - 8 years old and also Venture Scouts for 15 - 17 year olds. A meeting will be held on Thursday 9th September 2010 at 8pm in Ballinamore Community Hall and all are welcome to come along for more information and hopefully help to get these units up and running. We look forward to your support.

SPEECH AND DRAMA

Starting in September in the Shaylin Centre, Ballinamore for kids aged between 7 and 11 years. Classes will take place on Thursday's afterschool and will be run by a qualified Teacher.
