Baby boy still in critical condition after crash

A baby remains in a critical condition tonight following an accident just outside Ballymahon today. The accident happened at Terlicken on the Ballymahon to Lanesboro Road at around 2pm today.

Two other children and a number of adults travelling in the same vehicle were also taken to hospital in Mullingar after the crash. However the baby was subsequently taken to Beaumont Hospital and his condition was described as critical this evening.

The road at Terlicken Cross was closed for most the day today following the accident. The road is now open once again. More updates to follow.
