An Post Ras is Longford bound

Longford has been chosen as the finishing point for the first stage of the 2013 An Post Rás.

The annual event, which takes place over eight days, is popular with both professional and amateur cyclists, and participants are eligible to receive qualifying points for the Olympics and the World Cycling Championship.

Speaking to the Leader this week, Stage-End Manager, Lisa Brady said the first leg of the race on May 19 will see the competitors travel from Dunboyne in Co Meath to Longford, where they will stay overnight, before departing for Nenagh the following day.
