Accident near Garda checkpoint

There was a two car collision in the village of Kenagh yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in the vicinity of a Garda checkpoint.

The Longford Gardai were carrying out speed checks in the south Longford area at approximately 1pm yesterday when a car rear ended one of the vehicles being stopped by the Gardai.

Several ambulances attended the scene of the accident but no-one was seriously injured. There was some minor traffic disruptions while the Gardai investigated the accidents but the road was not fully sealed off and is open to traffic today.
