A fundraiser in the memory of the late Patsy Farrell, Teffia Park, Longford town will be held on Saturday, November 24th in the Longford Arms Hotel at 9pm. All proceeds will go towards a Family Rest Room in the In-Patients Ward of the Oncology Unit in Tullamore.

Speaking ahead of the event entitled ‘On The Road Again’, the Farrell family said: “Anyone who knew Patsy will know she had a passion for music. She was a familiar face on many stage productions throughout the years. She attended St Mel’s Musical Society events and she was a keen dancer all through her life.

“We hope that any local musicians available on the night will come and join us in this fundraiser.

“The idea behind the establishment of a Rest Room is that families will have a designated area where they can rest, shower and have facilities to make teas/coffees, thus easing the pressure on the all too helpful staff.”

An auction will also play a part on the night with a well known local auctioneer taking bids on a number of signed jerseys. Tickets cost $10 each and will be sold door to door and will also be available at Hair Square, Longford and other local businesses.
