Congratulations and well done to Phil Brady, Ballymore who
appeared on Winning Streak on Saturday night last and won a car to the value of twenty five thousand euro and eight thousand in cash. Phil’s daughter, Deirdre Reilly played the game for him and she did a great job, so we wish Phil and Kathleen and family happy spending.
The organizers of the supper dance in aid of St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland in Granard which was held in the Park House Hotel in Edgeworthstown on Friday night last wish to very sincerely thank all who donated prizes, all who bought tickets, all who contributed to the collection in St. Mary’s church and all who attended on the night. Special thanks to Fr. Simon for all his help and to Frank and Patricia Kilbride and staff in the Park House Hotel for their
hospitality and to Vincie Carr and Anne McGrory for their great entertainment. The community of St. Patrick’s really appreciate your support.
Calling on local businesses and craft people. The traditional Christmas will take place on Sunday December 6th from 2-5pm. Everyone welcome on the day. We will also have our unique live crib and switching on of Christmas lights and of course Santa will arrive. Exhibitors are required to set up their own stall and have their own insurance cover. On this Friday night, November 13th, Bunlahy Area Action Group will host a Table Quiz in Creegan’s Bunlahy starting at 9pm and with prizes galore this promises to be a great night out so your support will be greatly appreciated.
Granard Country Markets continue every Friday morning from 8-30 to 11am in the Motte project premises (opposite Kearney’s) and they are now taking orders for Christmas Cakes, Puddings, Cards etc. They also have the usual supply of home made Bread and cakes, crafts, country eggs and firewood in stock and they look forward to meeting all their patrons and thank them for their loyal support.
We extend sincere sympathy to the Lynch and Donohue families on the very untimely death of Mr. Con Lynch, Newtownbond which occurred last week. May he rest in peace.
Clonfin Commemoration committee will hold a very important meeting in Lus na Greine, Granard tomorrow night Thursday, November 12th at 9pm and all members are invited to attend.
Most Entertaining Team
Congratulations to Jackie’s Ballbreakers, Bunlahy who were the winners of the most entertaining team at last week’s October Mudfest which was hosted by the Sean Connolly’s GAA club. The prize included T-shirts and one hundred euro which the team are donating to Lus na Greine in Granard. The presentation of the prize was in Creegan’s on Saturday night last.
