Door to door fund raisers will be in our Parish for a couple of days during March and April. They will be wearing a blue branded Trócaire jacket and carrying a photo I.D for identification. The purpose of their visit is to raise awareness of the work of Trócaire and to request if you would like to support Trócaire on an ongoing basis. Solemn Final Novena
In honour of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the Holy Trinity Abbey, Kilnacrott continues every Tuesday at 7.30pm. Rosary takes place at 7.45p.m followed by Novena Prayers and Petitions at 8.00pm. Veterans of World War 1
We are trying to compile a list of all people from our parish who served in World War One. Later on this year Holy Mass will be offered for all these people. Their names could be placed on a stand with other relevant information about their service. During the Mass for these Veterans they could be acknowledged and thanked. History of Religious
It is hoped to compile a list of all Religious who are natives of our Parish. When a list is completed we can celebrate in some appropriate way these Abbeylara Parish natives Religious as our way for celebrating the Year for Consecrated Life 2015.
The club held its annual Club Clay Bird shoot on Sunday 8 February. Congratulations to Johnny Flynn Ballyboy on winning the Edward Donohue – Oliver Lynch Memorial cup. A good day was held by all.
Granard country Markets held a free draw for St. Valentine’s Day and the following were the winners Gabriel Devine, David Feely and Joseph Kelly. The Market continues every Friday morning at upper Main Street.
GAA Race Day
This year’s annual Longford GAA Race Day at Punchestown takes place on Gold Cup day which is Wednesday April 29. Once again Flynn and Lynch, Life and Pensions are the main sponsors of the event. Cycle and Climb
The 5th annual Glenn Brady Memorial Cycle and Climb will take place on Sunday, May 31st. This unique event is challenging and most rewarding, with 147km cycle and a 3-3.5 hour climb on Croagh Patrick. So there is plenty of time to train and we will look forward to another very successful day on May 31st. Details on Registration will be available in the coming weeks.

Youth 2000 Ireland
Invites all young adults aged 16-35 to a Catholic weekend retreat taking place from 6 to 8 March at Galway Community College, Moneenageisha, Galway City. This will be an exciting weekend attracting over 100 young people from all over the country.
