Congratulations to Rita and PJ Killian, Clonbearla who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently. It’s a great achievement to celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss. We join with their family and friends in wishing Rita and PJ many more years of health and happiness.

Baby girl

Congratulations to Cathy (nee Flynn) and Mark Horohoe on the recent birth of their baby girl Kate. Kate is a very welcome sister to big brothers Daniel and Ruairí. Congratulations are also extended to proud grandparents, Maura and Mattie Flynn, Begnagh and Geraldine Horohoe.

County Champions

Congratulations to Wolfe Tones hurling team who defeated Clonguish in the senior hurling championship final in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday last. The JJ Duignan Cup was presented by Michael Carrigy, chairman of Longford hurling board to the Wolfe Tones captain, Kealan Cox. Congratulations and well done to all involved, especially the Killashee men, Niall Dooner and Kealan Cox. Wolfe Tones now go on to represent Longford in the in the Leinster competition and we wish them every success.

Parish Retreat

A retreat for the parish will take place on Saturday, 18th October at Fr. Peyton centre in Attymass, Co. Mayo. A bus will leave Killashee at 8am and Clondra at 8.10am returning at 7pm (approx). The cost is €15 including lunch and transport. If you are interested in travelling please contact any member of the pastoral council. Jennifer Connell, Barry Cox, Bernie Cox, Teresa Farrell, Owen Johnson, Paula Jordan, Michael Mulvihill or Seamus Murtagh.

Lotto

The local lotto draw was held on Sunday last. Numbers drawn were 6, 15, 17, 18. There was no jackpot winner. €40 went to Jack O’Hara. €20 each went to John Farrell, Willie Donlon and Niall Dooner. The next draw will be held in The Chestnut Tree, Killashee on Sunday, 19th October for a jackpot of €6850. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

U-21 Championship

The U21 championship starts on Saturday when Southern Gaels play Mostrim in Pairc Chiaran, Newtowncashel at 5pm. Good luck to the team and management. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
