Community Games

A fundraising in aid of Longford County Community Games takes place on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May in Dunnes Stores, Longford from 10am - 8pm. Volunteers are needed from all areas, if you can volunteer please get in contact with Barry on 0877963182 as soon as possible and also let him know what time suits you best. Unfortunately in last weeks sports results there was a typing error in the list of names for U-6 race competitors. The correct result should have read as follows - Michael Nolan, Clodagh Cosgrove, Maria Forde, Abby McHugh and Darragh Cosgrove, all received their very first Gold Community Games medals. Congratulations and well done to all. Congratulations to Bronagh and Cait Kiely who won medals at the County Swimming finals recently. Bronagh won a silver medal in the U-10 back crawl 25m, while Cait won a bronze medal in the U-14 freestyle 50m. Well done girls, by all accounts Clodagh was very unfortunate not to secure a gold medal in her event.

St. Brigids GAA

St. Brigid’s continue to do well in the reserve football league Division 3, group 2, round 6, defeating Forgney on a final score of 3-18 to 0-8. Congratulations to the team. The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 6, 13, 16, 20. There was no jackpot winner. €40 winner was Ethan Neary, €20 each went to Bobby Neary, Sean Whitney and Marie Saunders. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Longford Senior footballers who defeated Offaly in the Leinster senior championship.
