James Cahill RIP
The death of James Cahill, Newtown, Whitehall which occurred recently has left many inside and outside the Parish deeply saddened. James was a hard working man, who right up to his untimely death was working at his timber business. Even though in poor health for sometime, nobody expected James to pass to his eternal reward so quickly. A deeply religious man, James spent almost of his time praying in the last few weeks of his life. James was a neighbour one could always call on, reliable and sincere. He was very proud of his family, his Parish and the local Barry’s footballers (male and female). People who went out and represented their Parish were always commended by James. A parishioner told me recently that James would always ring up people when they changed their car, or maybe if a person won a prize at Bingo or had a little win in the local or National Lotto. He liked to see people doing well or getting a positive bit of news. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife Marie, daughters Michelle, Laurna and son Niall, sisters Elizabeth Fallon, Ita Trimble, Pauline Hickey, Marian Murphy, brother John Joe, brothers in law, nephews, nieces and a large circle of other relations and friends. Marie, Michelle, Niall, Laurna and all the family wish to express their sincere thanks to their wonderful neighbours and friends for all their help during the recent difficult period in their lives. Following Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Whitehall celebrated by Fr Eamon O’Connor PP, Jim was brought to his final resting place in Kilbarry Cemetery.
