On Sunday, March 16 next a Tractor run will leave from Creegan’s in Bunlahy and proceed to Granard, Abbeylara, Lisryan, Edgeworthstown, Ballinalee and returning to Bunlahy. Registration which will cost 20 euro will start at 10.00 am and continue until 11.30am and the run will leave at Midday. 5K Road Race/Fun Run
Castletown- Finea, Coole Whitehall GFC are holding a 5K Road Race and Fun Run on Sunday, 23 March at 12 noon. The event is AAI approved and fully insured and is a full road course. Times will be published on Facebook after the event. Prizes for many categories including Seniors, Juniors, Over 40’s, Over 50’s and U-12 National School Children. There will be special group for children walking the route, fully supervised with two stewards. Refreshments will be served in Fitzsimons Bar following the event. A Fundraising Concert will take place on Wednesday, 9 April in Crover House Hotel, Mountnugent at 8.30p.m. with Mick Flavin and his Band. Proceeds go towards the maintenance of Holy Trinity Abbey, Kilnacrott. There will be a door prize -pilgrimage for one person to Medjugorje. Abbeylara Drama Group will launch a DVD of “Christening with a Twist” on Sunday night, 16 March in Crawford’s. There will be music on the night. Your support would be very much appreciated.
We were in the medals again this week with the girls U-13 Futsal team. They came up against a very well drilled south Longford time and were just that bit off the mark today but put in a great performance especially in the second half. Getting their silver medals were Sophie Kieran, Molly Niamh Burke, Ava Donohoe, Caoimhe Lynch, Sinead O ‘Reilly and Aoife Leonard. Well done girls for all the hard work and hope to see you all again next year. Following on after the girls game were the U-13 boys team on the day were Logan O’Reilly, Connor Leonard, Cathal Gillian, Ciarian Scalon, Cian O’Reilly, Brian Masterson, and Calon Lynch. They took on the host club Kenagh in their first game. Well done to the boys who were well drilled in the game and thanks to Aiden for his time he spend with the team. Thanks to all the parents that travelled with the kids and all the mentors for their time.
