It was Bishop Francis first official visit to the parish and by all accounts he was very impressed by the standard of the children presented which was great credit to their teacher Fiona Hughes and music teacher Fintan Farrelly. The church was suitably decorated, thanks to Nancy, Michelle and Mary. Refreshments were served after the ceremony by the Parents Association. We offer congratulations and best wishes to the twenty pupils whose names are as follows - Jamie Byrne, Tilly Carberry, Gary Clarke, Kiera Farrell, Adam Flanagan, Conor Hall, Kyle Hall, Damien Higgins, Dwayne Higgins, Keyleigh Loran, Theresa Loran, Erin McCormack, Keelin McGann, Nathan Molloy, Robyn Molloy-Doherty, Shane Nevin, Patrick O’Brien, Charlie Patterson, Frank Patterson, Chantell Rohan. Since before Christmas Mass goers to Saint Dominic’s Church, Kenagh have the pleasant experience of hearing the very best in hymn singing. Sharon Thurley from Athlone has been providing very suitable accompaniment for Saturday evenings mass over the past few months. As one worshipper remarked, it was most uplifting and a pleasant reminder of how hymn singing was performed in times gone by. We look forward to many more Saturday evenings listening to Sharon with her very professional presentation.
We offer sincere sympathy to Jerry Dooner, Cartronbrack and Mary Glennon, on the very sad death of their daughter Chloey who died very unexpectedly at Mullingar hospital on Friday March 7th.
