Halloween Fancy Dress Disco

Lough Lene Gaels Camogie Club are hosting a Fancy Dress Disco with a Halloween theme in Collinstown Hall on Thursday night, October 31 between 7 and 9pm. All intending participants should begin their preparations now in order to have their costumes ready for the event. Prizes on the night for the best costumes will be awarded in three categories - Family, Boy, and Girl. Entry fee is €3 for each adult and juvenile alike. All are welcome.

Dialysis Fundraiser

A fundraising night in aid of the Kidney Dialysis Unit in Tullamore Hospital will take place in Hotel Castlepollard on October 27, Bank Holiday Weekend. Tickets cost €10 each and there will be draw on the tickets for the first prize of two nights B&B in Cassidy’s Hotel, Dublin, second prize of a Petrol Strimmer, and other prizes. A raffle will take place on the night with lots of spot prizes, and there will be music and finger food. All money raised on the night will go to a great cause which affects a great many people. Castlepollard Bowls Club

Castlepollard Bowls Club have recommenced for the Winter, and sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday in Castlepollard Community College from 8 to 10pm. New Club Chairperson is John Thompson and he can be contacted on 087 0573392. New members are welcome.

Tullynally Terror Trail

The first ever Tullynally Terror Trail will take place nightly on Bank holiday Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 26 & 27 at 6pm, taking in the Ghastly Grotto, Wailing Wall, Forgotten Station, Troll Bridge and the Hound of the Pakenhams. The walks are suitable for 8 years and older, and cost is adults €8, children €4, family groups (2 + 2) €20. Guide for the Spook Walks around the historic Tullynally Castle will be Bartle D’Arcy. Places are limited, and booking is available online

Hotel Opening

Hotel Castlepollard is under new management, and will celebrate with an official opening on Friday, October 25 at 8pm. The official opening ceremony will be undertaken by Junior Minister Michael Ring, TD and Cllr Peter Burke. The new management extend an open invitation to all to attend on the night.
