Pioneer Dance The Longford Regional Pioneer dance will take place on Friday night the 1st November in the Rustic-inn Abbeyshrule commencing at 9pm. Music on the night by J&S Sound. Pioneer and non pioneer people are welcome. Tickets are available from Fr Tiernan, Catherine Duff or any committee member.
House Stations The autumn stations in the parish continue for the following areas. Friday the 8th Nov in the home of Tom and Bridie Corrigan for the Abbeyderg area. Monday 11th Nov at the home of Bernadette Egan for the Mornine area.
Badminton Badminton continues in Carrickedmond parish hall on Wednesday nights. New members very welcome so do come along and bring your friend. Badminton on Friday night’s at 7pm for 7-11 yr olds and at 8.15pm for 11 years upwards. Registration fees for the season are as follows. €20 per child, €50 per family (more than 2 children) and €50 per adult. Folk Group Carrickedmond folk group will sing at 10am mass in Carrickedmond church on Sunday morning next the 27th October. Rehearsals will continue in Carrickedmond church on Wednesday nights from 8pm to 9pm. New members always welcome.
Newsletter A reminder to all individuals and organisations in the parish to have all material ready for the annual newsletter for Wednesday the 30th October. Please hand all material into Fr Tiernan on or before this date. The annual newsletter will be distributed as usual at Christmas time.
Reader A reader is required for Sunday mass readings in Carrickedmond church for the month of November. If interested please contact Fr Tiernan.
Used Clothes Collection There will be a used clothes collection from outside St Sinneach’s NS Colehill School on Friday, 25th October. Please leave bags of old used clothes, shoes etc at the school wall before 9.30am.
Draught’s and art competitions will commence soon. All boys and girls from the parish interested in taking part in these competitions are encouraged to get out the draught boards and pencils and get some practice in now. Thanks to Rosanne McCormack for her 10 years on the Community Games committee and to Brenda Kelly for all her help with Community Games activities in the parish. Both have recently retired from the committee.
