Congratulations to Darragh Healy, Rooskey Lock on his recent 18th birthday celebrations.
The recent coffee mornings raised 2,618.65 euro. Rooskey Hospice Support Group wish to thank all who hosted a coffee morning and all those who supported them in any way. This is an exceptionally high figure in the current climate.
The death occurred on October 15th last of Margaret (Peggy) McGuire, nee Breen, Caul, Kilglasss. Peggy was the sacristan in Slatta church for over 42 years, and was awarded the Benemerenti medal in 2002 by Bishop Christopher Jones. She always carried out her duties in a professional and courteous manner, and was a popular and well respected member of the community in Slatta. Peggy’s funeral mass took place to Slatta church on Friday last. Deepest sympathy is extended to her husband Michael, daughter Dorothy, sons Michael, John, Frank and Patrick and all her extended family, grandchildren and many friends, and the community in Slatta. May she rest in peace.

Roger Hogan and Fintan Cruse will take part in the New York marathon in November in aid of Roscommon Mayo Hospice. Sponsorship cards are available in all local businesses and your support is appreciated. Cards will be collected on their return following completion of the marathon. Niall and Enda Fundraising Draw and GAA stars gathering on Friday night next will take place in Tommy Cox’s. There will be a host of county players present and also some of the St Brigid’s, All Ireland Club Champions panel with the Andy Meerrigan Cup.
