Niall and Enda on the run
Hold on to your braces now, the headline is not as bad as it first looks. Niall Kilcrann is to run with his friend Enda Daly in the Dublin City Marathon in aid of Roscommon/Mayo Hospice. The boys are selling tickets for 5 euro. Draw will take place in Cox’s Bar, Ruskey on Friday, 25th October. Contact Niall on 087-7640679.
Special Water Ski
A special water ski will take place on Christmas Morning as a”Tribute” to the late Brian King. A launch of this event will be held in Strokestown Golf Course on Friday 1st November at 9pm. All are welcome. Music and refreshments on the night. Enquiries to 087-6356729.

Well done to all from the Parish who participated in the Solstice Summer Choir Concert which was held in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Athlone on Sunday evening last. James Wallace as ever performed very well and is an amazing young man. Nice to see other members of our Community participating in the Choir.
Rosary will be recited in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue every Wednesday, meeting after Mass for the months of October and November. Mass is at 7pm.
Ruskey Community Centre is now hosting karate classes for 6 years and upwards.
Walk for Cancer
A walk in support of Irish Cancer Society/Mayo/Roscommon Hospital take place in Strokestown on Monday 28th October from Centra Car Park. Distance 6k. Come out and bring the family. The race will commence at 10.30am. This is a very deserving cause so please come and support with your family.
The Bell Tower Charity Shop is open in Ruskey. It is situated close to Cox’s Bar. All proceeds in support of Ruskey Church Restoration Fund.
We extend sympathy to Brendan Cox, Kilbarry on the death of his brother-in-law, Jonny McCarney, Augher, Co. Tyrone. May he rest in peace.
The parent and toddler group has resumed every Tuesday at Buttercups Playschool between 10am to 12noon. Please come along.
