On Saturday evening last Kingspan Breffni Park hosted the first leg of the International Rules Series between Ireland and Australia. It was an extremely well organised event in which Cavan County Board, Cavan County Council, Cavan Gardaí, Civil Defence etc can take great pride. There were glowing tributes on the Social Media sites both from members of the Australian Party and the Irish Party to visitors from different counties. With members of the Media from all over Ireland and some from Australia it was left to the Cavan IT and Communications Committee under County Board P.R.O. Declan Woods to ensure Broadband etc was working for them. On the committee with Declan are Barry Mc Hugh, Elaine Cully and Annette Geoghegan (Cornafean) who ensured everything went smoothly on the night. The Irish and Australian Flags were carried out on the field and spread out by the Arva and Kill players respectively and it was great to see the two clubs involved. Arva along with all other clubs in the county provided stewards for the event. Congratulations to everyone involved.
