Saturday and Sunday last saw the climax of our 125th celebrations and what a success it proved to be. We began on Saturday afternoon with a walk in Higginstown Complex proceeds of which go to Longford Hospice, then on Saturday night a great time was had by all in a packed Fay’s Bar where-Back for the Game-was a great hit. Then on Sunday our anniversary match Granard Healy’s v. Arva Davitt’s was played in front of a large crowd with the Longford Pipe Band leading the players onto the pitch and the players
attired in the style of the 1880’s. It was a wonderful spectacle and was thoroughly
enjoyed by all. The organisation of the 125 celebrations took a trojan effort by a
lot of people, so we say a big thank you to everyone who helped make this project
the success it has been.
