Patsy Young on Monday 28 October 2013. Carrigallen Womens Group is hosting Fashion Show 2013 in-aid of breast cancer & the Carrigallen Day Care Centre on Friday 8 November. Local shops and models participating, Full details later. Admission is €10 with Spot Prizes galore. Doors open at 8:00pm and Show starts at 8:30pm. 10th Annual One Act Drama Festival 2013 on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and 17 November 2013. 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights, 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Admission is €10 nightly or €20 for the weekend.

Congratulations to Rebecca and Gerry Kiernan, Gulladoo, Carrigallen on the birth of their baby daughter Fíona recently.
Carrigallen Tug-of-War committee would like to thank everyone who attended the Tug-of-War reunion which was held in Kilbrackan Arms Hotel, Carrigallen on Saturday 14 September 2013, especially to those who traveled a journey to be there on the night.
Thanks to Cathal Farrelly for the use of his window to display the memorabilia; Greta O’Neill and John McCabe for the DVD information; Seamus Reynolds for doing the DVD; the Finnegan family for providing the music on the night; Paul Donohoe photographer; Donal Cadden and staff of Kilbrackan Arms Hotel for the use of the premises and for the refreshments. There was €200 over so the committee donated it to their charity of choice which was the MS Society.
Carrigallen Community Text Alert Scheme is now in its third year and has proven very beneficial in the prevention of crime in this area. It is important that we keep our level of vigilance as high as possible as we enter the dark days of winter. Membership is now due for renewal and renewal envelopes can be got in the local shops in Carrigallen and Newtowngore. Membership remains the same as the last two years at €5. Anyone who has paid membership and are not receiving text messages can contact Neville Patterson on 087 9282098 or Martina McCann at McCann’s Centra Supermarket to have the problem resolved.
Bingo next Sunday night 27 October 2013 in the Community Centre at 8:30pm. Weekly prize money is over €3,000. Lucky Number €50 and will increase by €20 each night until won. On Page 9 there is €1,000 for the full house. Please support.
G.F.C. Lotto The draw was held on Saturday 19 October 2013 and the numbers drawn on the night were 3,12, 19, and 25. There was no Jackpot winner and the four winners of €50 each were Seamus Quinn, Frances Cooke, Vinny Lyons and Christy Coyne. Next week’s draw will be held in Gorby’s Pub on 26 October and the Jackpot will be €8,800. Those in charge on the night will be the St Joseph’s team.
