Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu International Karate: Our work shop day was held in Kilglass Dojo on Sunday last. The day was a huge success with Sensei Koeppel and Sensei Smith, two of the highest ranking karate masters in the world in attendance. A huge thank you to all of our students who attended on the day. A number of our students were unable to attend due to competing in the All Ireland Community Games Final of u-11 tag rugby and our club would like to say well done to all of them on their achievements. We look forward to seeing you all back at training this week. Remember June is our grading month and only those students who attend classes will be eligible for consideration for grading. Congratulations to Rachel and Johnathan who made their first Communion last week and were inadvertently omitted from last weeks notes. Club training times Monday 7-8pm and Friday 7.30-8.30pm. Fáilte Abhaile Barbeque: Plans are all in place now for what promises to be a great event. Tickets are going great and if anyone wants one at the last minute there may be a few left for sale at the door. Food will be served from 9pm - 11pm. Tidy Towns: We’ve just completed a very busy time with helpers out several days & evenings over the last two weeks painting, planting, weeding and cleaning. Thanks to everyone who has helped and as we’ve said several times before newcomers are more than welcome to join us any evening you see work going on. There’s still some time to get hanging baskets & window boxes ready for the long awaited sunshine to make them flourish.
Council Street Sweeper: Longford County Council Street Sweeper is coming Thursday 30th May at 9.30am. They have requested the street is clear of parked cars for them to do a proper job. We are looking for an Army of Helpers to come out on Wednesday evening to sweep the footpaths onto the road for the lorry to pick up. This is a once a year event so lets make the most of it.
Clothes Collection: Scoil Mhuire have requested bags of second hand clothes to be left in the Junior Infants Yard before 10am on Wednesday 29th May. This provides valuable fund raising for the school and your support would be very welcome.

SIAMSA: An Irish Language Summer Course (SIAMSA!) will take place from Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July in Gaelscoil Longfoirt. The course will take place from 9.30am to 3.00pm each day and will cater for students from Third to Sixth class.
