She was predeceased by her husband John many years ago RIP. Eileen as she was most affectionately called was a lady of deep faith. As local post mistress she was held in the highest esteem by an Puist and by all her customers. Her bright smile, generosity and her deep concern for others will be forever remembered. Dromod was never the same once the old post office was closed. The very large attendance at her removal from her home to St Josephs Church Cloonturk and again at her con-celebrated mass which was a celebration of Eileen’s life was indeed testimony to the very high esteem in which she, her sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews nieces and family circle were held by the community and to whom we offer our deepest sympathy. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
KATHLEEN DOYLE: It was with geneuine regret and deep sorrow I learned of the death of Kathleen Doyle, Laheen South who died at the general Hospital Mullingar on the 15th May 2013.Kathleen had being cared for at the Shannon Lodge Nursing Home Ruskey for many years. We all remember Kathleen as a lovely lady when she worked for Reynolds drapery here on Main Street. She was most obliging and was held in the highest esteem by all her customers. A lady of deep faith she had a great sense of humour and it was always good to be in her company. Her removal took place to St Patricks Church Mohill on Monday morning last for requiem mass at which the celebrant Fr Sean Burke spoke eloquently about Kathleen and sympathised with her nephew niece cousins and all who mourned Kathleen at this sad time and to whom we offer our deepest sympathy.
