Congrats: Congratulations to the Southern Gaels U-14 team who recently won the league final by defeating Ballymahon/Forgney in Pearse Park. The team was Conor Casey, Patrick Farrell, Liam Galvin, Dylan Farrell, Colin Cousins, Conor Flood, Jack Magna, Niall Casey, Jamie Birmingham, Brian Kelly, Loughlin Healy, Owen Mulvihill, Rían Cox and Craig Gorman. Well done to the team mentors also.

Community Games: The annual Community Games Sports day was held in Killashee recently. Despite inclement weather there was a great turnout, both athletes and parents. A special word of thanks to all the parents who helped so much with the smooth running of all events. The county finals will take place on Sunday 9th June in Ballymahon and we wish all our Killashee representatives the very best of luck and hope they have a very enjoyable day. Choir: Congratulations to Clodagh Kiely, Derryohill, who recently took part in the National Childrens Choir. The show was hosted by Mary Kennedy (from Nationwide) and was held in the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Clodagh and her classmates from St. Josephs National School, Longford, thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.

Good luck: Best of luck to the Longford Hurlers who take on Warwickshire in the Lory Meagher final in Croke Park on Saturday next 8th June. Killashee is well represented on the hurling team by Michael Farrell, Kealan Cox and Johnny Casey and we wish them ever success.

Baby girl: Congratulations to Bernard and Sandra Casey, London (formerly from Rapareehill and Clonbrock) on the recent birth of their baby girl, Elena. Elena and her proud parents were home in Killashee to meet all the relatives and friends. We hope they had a very enjoyable time. Congratulations to the delighted grandparents Betty and P.J. and Eileen and Padraig.
