U-14 League Game: Two well-drilled teams, St. Brigid’s and Dromahaire, were not unduly discomfited by the arctic conditions that obtained at Aughnasheelin Park on last Saturday morning, when Dromahaire emerged with a comfortable win over the hosts. Cake Sale Fundraiser: A fundraising cake sale will be held in Drumreilly Community Centre on next Saturday night following the Vigil Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea. The proceeds will go towards the funding of the McCartin S.D. trip to the 2013 U.K. Championship.

Recent Death: Widespread sadness has been evoked by the death of former Toome resident Miss Geraldine Mimna, Carrigallen. Her funeral took place on Thursday last following Mass of the Resurrection, concelebrated by Fr. Kevin O Rourke and Fr. Denis Murray in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlea to the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her sons Daniel and David, her father Christy, her sisters Margaret and Teresa, her brothers Patsy, Christopher and Anthony, her uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and other relatives. Recalling March 1993: Drumreilly beat Bornacoola in a first round Minor League game played in Carrickmakeegan, and were beaten 2-8 to 2-5 by Kiltubrid, and later beat Carrigallen by 2-10 to 0-5. Drumreilly defeated Bornacoola in a first round Division 4 game in Dromod. Noel Corby, Denis Smith, Jamesy Maguire, Séamus Corby, Pádraig Lunney, Christopher Mimna, Seán Mitchell, Tomás Connolly (0-1), Seán Masterson (1-2), Oliver Maguire (1-1), Frank Holahan (1-1), Connell McGovern (1-3), James Holahan (2-0), Pádraig Gaffney (1-0) and Noel McGirl (0-1) did duty for Drumreilly. Active Age Snippets: Fourteen members attended the weekly meeting on Wednesday last. The main items discussed were arrangements for a Bowling session, payment of bills and a summer outing. Guest speaker Mary Holahan of MABS addressed the meeting on the history and function of the organisation, and how it can assist people on problems associated with debt. A party of sixteen enjoyed the bowling trip to Mulvey’s Ck on Shannon on Thursday night. Tess Gallogly and Antoon Jannink emerged with the highest scores. The next meeting will be held on this Wednesday March 27th.

Lotto Draw Results: There was no Jackpot winner in Shortt’s, Ballinamore on Wednesday March 13th. The numbers drawn were 4, 5, 23 and 25. The €20 prizes were won by Felix Prior, Kevin Holahan, Cathal Sheridan, Jim McManus, Fr. Tom McManus, Leo Mitchell and J & K. McTague.
