St Patrick’s Day Parade: The best parade for years, it’s amazing the fun and amusement that can be derived from a colourful parade and we certainly got that last week. It was great to see the effort people went to, to make their floats, dancers etc so vibrant. The weather was good compared to recent years and I must say it looked like everyone had a great experience at the parade. Roll on next year!
Dog Poo!!: Bring it home or bin it in the many bins provided. Please think of pedestrians, mums and dads pushing buggy, people in wheelchairs, they really don’t want to bring yours dogs poo into their homes. Poo bags can be purchased in any supermarket. Please try to be considerate and make the effort.
Pike Anglers: Fished for the Shortt Cup on Saturday 16th March on Lock Scur - 1st Tony Gallagher, 5lb 10oz pike; 2nd Alan Gallagher, 4lb 8oz pike; 3rd Ollie Gallaher, 4lb 6oz pike. It was a lovely day to be out on the lake, and everybody caught a few pike except for the Conger Gilheaney who blanked on the day. He seemed to be going round in circles all day. We think he was missing his captain and mentor Barry Taylor and wasn’t used to the bail being so high up in the water. Next year we are changing the name of the club to The Gallagher Benevolent Fund.
