Easter Cermonies: Holy Thursday, Mass in Rooskey at 7.30pm. 
Holy Hour from 10pm – 11pm in Rooskey church. Good Friday - celebration of the Lord’s passion in Kilglass church at 3pm. Stations of the Cross in Slatta church at 7.30pm. Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil mass in Slatta church at 8pm. Easter Sunday, mass at 10.30am in Kilglass church and at 12 noon in Rooskey church.

Tea party: Rooskey Church Renovation committee will hold a tea party on Friday 26th of April at the community centre Rooskey. Music by Eamon Kelly. Hostesses required. Contact any committee member.

Slatta Litter Pick: Come and join the staff and pupils of Slatta NS on Monday, 15th of April from 1.15pm for the Green schools initiative, as they clean up the road around the school. This day of action is conducted as part of the National Spring Clean. There is an open day from 2pm on the same day, and everyone is invited to come along and see the changes made in the school since they joined the initiative. If anyone is interested in joining the school on the litter pick please contact Mr Kelly on 071 9638818. School enrolment forms now available from the school.

The Angela Rogers Memorial Longford Hospice Fund: Noelie Rogers, Knockhall, is organising and participating in The White Collar Boxing Event in memory of his late mother Angela Rogers. ‘Brawl in the Hall’ takes place in the Longford Arms hotel on Easter Sunday night, 30th of March at 8pm. Admission 10 euro. MC on the night is John Lynch from Shannonside radio. All funds raised got to the County Longford hospice and palliative care team. If you cannot attend on the night and would like to make a donation to The Angela Rogers Memorial Longford Hospice Fund, a bank account has been opened at AIB, Longford. Honda 50 run: Takes place on Sunday, 7th of April starting at 12 noon sharp from Kilglass GAA pitch, proceeds in aid of Kilglass Whitehall association supporting people with special needs. For further information contact Jackie Cox on 087 7940148.

Easter commemoration: Takes place in Kilglass cemetery at 3pm at the grave of Frank O’Donoghue. Rosary to be recited along with the recital of the proclamation on Easter Sunday next.

Deaths: Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bill Dooner, late of Delaware, USA, and formerly of Druminardly, Rooskey, whose funeral mass took place on Saturday last. Deepest sympathy is extended to his family in the US, sister, Mae Tully, Strokestown, and sister in law, Eva Dooner, Druminardly. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Deepest sympathy is extended to John Cassidy, Knockhall on the recent death of his sister Brigid Cassidy, whose funeral mass took place to Christ the King cathedral Mullingar recently. May she rest in peace. Deepest sympathy is extended to Gerry and Marcella Bohan, Slatta, on the recent death of Gerry’s father Thomas Bohan who died recently. May he rest in peace.

Money allocated: The mayor of Roscommon, Cllr Tom Crosby has been informed by Roscommon County Council that 250,000 euro is now being allocated towards continuing the reconstruction work on the Scramogue to Rooskey R371 road at Ruane, Kilglass with a tarmacadem surface finish. Cllr Crosby states that this allocation should continue the stretch from the quarry down, which will complete the road from Scramogue crossroads to Kilglass church with a tarmcadem surface finish. Cllr Crosby confirmed he will continue to work on next years budget in order to insure that a further allocation of funding becomes available for the entire R371 road, to be finished with a tarmacadem surface right up to Rooskey village. This he enthuses will be most welcome by the general communities of Kilglass, Slatta and Scramogue, and all comuters using this very busy regional road. The work will be completed during the summer months.

SUMMER YOGA: Classes starting in the Weir Lodge Rooskey Tuesday 9th April at 7.30pm.This is a 2 X 3 wks course in Summer yoga. Start with a 3 weeks course especially if you are a beginner. Beginners and improvers welcome. Classes also available for Active Age groups or if you are recovering from an illness or injury chair exercises are ideal.
