GAA Minor Club – thank you: We would like to thank all who supported our fund-raising quiz last Friday night. Thank you to Lorna Heslin for presenting the quiz and to her assistants Peter Quinn and Mickey Dorrigan for their work on the night. We thank Longford Electrical, Gannon’s Mohill, Gavin Mitchell Meats and Josie Dorrigan for donating spot prizes on the night and all those who made sandwiches. We extend a huge thank you to Jimmy & Kathleen Fox for the use of their premises on the night and also for their generous donation to the club.
Births: Congratulations to Ciaran and Deirdre McNulty, Cornageeha on the birth of their baby daughter, Mischa, a beautiful sister for Cian, Noah and Ultan and to Ciaran and Jennifer Gilmartin, Cattan on the birth of their lovely baby boy, Tommy, a brother for Emma and Leah. We wish both families every health and happiness.
Recent Wedding: Congratulations to Pat McNally, Cattan and Liz Teague, Longford, on the occasion of their wedding on Saturday last at St. Mary’s Church, Gortletteragh. A reception was held afterwards at the Rugby Club in Longford. We wish Pat and Liz many years of health and happiness.
Church Gate Collection: The recent Church gate collection in aid of Self Help Africa realised a total of €315. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Multiple Sclerosis: The annual Church gate collection in aid of Multiple Sclerosis will be taken up at all Masses this weekend.
Holy Week Services: Holy Thursday - Mass of the Last Supper with washing of feet and renewal of commitment for Eucharistic Ministers at 8pm in Gortletteragh Church. Good Friday: Passion of Our Lord with Holy Communion in Gortletteragh Church at 3pm, Stations of the Cross in Cornageeha Church at 8pm. Holy Saturday: Night Vigil Mass in Gortletteragh Church at 9pm. There will be no Saturday evening Mass in Cornageeha.
Deaths: The death took place of Kathleen Tiernan, Tulcon on Monday, March 11th at The Lough Errill Nursing, Mohill. The removal of her remains took place from her residence to St. Mary’s Church, Gortletteragh. Following her concelebrated funeral mass, she was laid to rest in Farnaught cemetery. We tender sympathy to her daughter Clare, sons Padraig, Vincent, Gerry and Joe, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. We also offer our condolences to Francie O’Neill, Gortletteragh and family on the death of his brother, John O’Neill, Lisnanagh, Edgeworthstown. May they rest in peace.
