Car Wash: Ballycloghan Foroige is holding a carwash on Saturday 6th April at Ballycloghan Hall car park from 10am – 5pm. Walking Group: On this Saturday 30th March the Walking Group will meet in Ballycloghan at 10.00am for their weekly walk. Legan/Ballycloghan Community Games are holding a sponsored walk on Good Friday at 5.00pm.

Linny Anglers: Results of Linny Anglers lotto draw held in Howeys for a jackpot of 1,850 euro. Numbers drawn were 2, 7, 14 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners were Damian Moran and Geoffrey McGonighe each 40 euro. Next week’s draw takes place in Casey’s on Easter Saturday night.

Exercise Classes: Exercise classes will be starting on Wednesday 10th April in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule at 8pm. Classes are for 6 weeks and beginners are welcome. For information on booking call Darren on 086 0662781.

Community Games: Legan/Ballycloghan Community games will hold a fundraising walk/cycle on this Friday (Good Friday), starting in Legan at 5.00pm.

Ceremonies: Ceremonies for Holy Week in Legan and Ballycloghan are as follows. As this Friday is the first Friday of April Holy Communion calls to the sick and housebound will be on Spy Wednesday. On Thursday Mass of the Last Supper in St Anne’s Ballycloghan at 7pm, and in St Mary’s Church Legan at 8.30pm. On Good Friday Commemoration of the Lorde’s Passion in Legan at 3pm and in Ballycloghan at 8pm. Holy Saturday Easter Vigil Mass in St Mary’s Legan in 9.00pm. Easter Sunday Dawn Mass in the New Cemetery Legan at 6.00am . Mass in St Anne’s Ballycloghan at 10.am and in St Mary’s Legan at 11.30am.

New Macra Club: A new branch of Macra has been launched in South Longford at a meeting in Legan recently. 30 members signed up on the night and a new committee was elected as follows. Chairman Gerard Butler, Secretary Deidre Gillew, Treasurer James Moran and PRO Eimear McCabe.

GAA: Results of Legan GAA Lotto held on Monday 18th in Howley’s for a jackpot of 6,350 euro. There was no jackpot winner. Winners of 50 euro each were Max Nulty and James Nulty. Numbers drawn were 5, 6, 19 and27.

“Rose of Tralee”: Longford ICA Federation is sponsoring a “Rose of Tralee” Longford contestant this year. Closing date for entry is 3rd April.
