LOTTO: The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 1, 4, 19, 25.There was no jackpot winner. 40 euro went to Tommy Newman and Tina Fallon. 20 euro each went to Padraic Fallon, Noel Drew, Sophie McKeon. The next draw will be held in the Chestnut Tree Killashee on Sunday 7th April for a jackpot of 4400 euro. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
AREA ENHANCEMENT: Killashee village and Area Enhancement Plan. By now most of you will have had a visit from members of our steering group explaining our exciting initiative in the parish. What we are looking for is your ideas for the village and surrounding area – by text to 086 8398135 or 087 2026894, by posting a message on the Killashee Tidy Towns facebook page or by leaving your idea in the suggestion boxes in Killashee Church or school. All ideas will then be displayed at a community exhibition to be held in Killashee National School on Thursday 4th April from 7pm – 9pm. Please come along and have your say on which ones end up in the Killashee village Enhancement Plan.
AMERICAN TEA PARTY: Killashee Tidy Towns/Village Enhancement Group are holding an American Tea Party in the Chestnut Tree Killashee on Friday 5th April 2013 at 9pm. Music by the Drifting Cowboy. Tickets cost 10 euro and are available from any member of the steering group. A great night’s entertainment is assured.
CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Adrianna Melia and Niall Mulligan on the birth of their baby boy last weekend. Congratulations to the proud grandparents Ann and Sean Melia.
SALE: An Easter Cake and Book Sale will take place in Clondra Community Hall on Good Friday at 4pm. Proceeds are in aid of refurbishment of Clondra Community Hall. Donations of cakes and books are welcome on the day. Donations can be left at the Hall at 11.30am or at 4pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
KILLASHEE COMMUNITY GAMES: Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously to the Church gate collection on Sunday last in Killashee and Clondra. The draw for the Easter eggs will be held this week. Thank you to those who sold tickets, those who bought tickets and a very special thank you to McCarricks for their sponsorship, they never let us down. Results of the draw will be published next week.
HOLY WEEK CEREMONIES: Holy Thursday 28th March – Mass of the Lords Supper in Clondra at 8pm with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 11pm.Good Friday 29th March - meet at Clondra Church at 12 noon and walk to Killashee by the canal. Pray the stations of the Cross along the way. 3pm ceremony in Killashee Stations of the Cross in Clondra at 7.30pm.Holy Saturday 30th March Easter Vigil in Killashee at 8pm. Easter Sunday 31st March – 10.30am Mass in Killashee and 8pm Mass in Clondra. Confessions after all Holy Week ceremonies.
SCHOOL REUNION: Killashee National School Reunion in the Year of the Gathering on the weekend of 14th - 15th June. Preparations continue for our school reunion. We hope to make contact with as many families as possible over the next few weeks and we hope that you make contact with us. We would really appreciate if you could loan us photographs that we could copy or give us copies of old photographs from the school or any piece of history related to the parish. So to all past pupils of Killashee new and old schools, please have a look in your archives and lets gather up as much history of the past hundred years as we can and make this a gathering to remember.
