Over on the cross county course Aoife Leonard and her Longford teammates finished 3rd in their heat to reach the final on Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon Tomas Scanlon came 4th in his heat and made the B final and in a very close race finished 4th a great result for the young swimmer. Sunday morning Aoife teamed up with Mayo runners to run a sub mixed distance race and running the last leg secured 3rd place for them. Finishing the day was Aisling in the U10 backstroke and after a great swim in her heat she won silver in the final. Well done to all this weekend. Next weekend sees Rachel Gillian and Cian O’Donnell compete in the track events and we wish them well. We wish Ciaron Scanlon a speedy recovery after a shoulder injury earlier in the week.
