St Patrick’s Arva GAA Club: Lotto: The Arva Football Club Lotto draw was held in the Club Rooms on Tuesday night 1st January. The Jackpot was €2450 – Numbers drawn were 6/10/13/22. No winner. €50 winners – Joe McHugh, Moyne, Martin Egan, Bruce Betting & Brían Cully, Arva. The next Lotto Jackpot will be €2500. Lotto Envelopes can be left in the Letterbox in St Patrick’s Hall next to the National School for collection on Monday evenings and everyone is welcome to attend the draw. Calendar: The hugely successful 2013 Calendar “Off The Ball” by St Patricks GAA Arva in association with SOSAD is available in many businesses around the area. If you haven’t already got one - they are selling fast and receiving great reviews. The quality of the photography is first class and those taking part are popular members of the local football clubs and are involved in some “Striking Pose’s” ?? as you’ve never seen them before. Buy the Calendar and support Arva football club and a very worthy cause. SOSAD (Save Our Sons And Daughters) is a Suicide Awareness and Prevention organisation.

Folk Group: The Arva Folk Group are urgently seeking to recruit new adult musicians – if you play any instrument please contact Ann Doyle on 049 4335 787. They have practice each Tuesday evening at 8.30 pm and would strongly encourage any singers or musicians with an interest to join in and assure them of a warm welcome.

COMEDY IN THE CORNMILL: A comedy play for all the family takes place in The Corn Mill Theatre Carrigallen. Forget the budget and just relax and enjoy this traditional comedy set in a chaotic 1960s doctors surgery. Free Money: Saturday Night’s Raffle in the Breffni Arms Hotel and Leisure Complex, Arva is called ‘Free Money Saturday’ and on Saturday night last there was no winner. Aromatherapist: Gene Goode will be coming to The Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva at 6.45pm on 25th February to demonstrate the benefits of oils etc. to the Senior Citizens Club.
