THOMAS MCDERMOTT: The unexpected death of Tom McDermott Clooncarne Bornacoola at Mullingar General Hospital on the 6th January 2013 has caused a void in the local community. Tom dearly loved husband of Pauline and devoted father of Noel and Margaret was a gentleman of many qualities. A most obliging neighbour and loyal friend. The very large attendance at his removal to St Michaels Church Bornacoola and again at his requiem Mass which was a celebration of Tom’s life, was indeed testimony to the very high esteem in which he, his dear wife Pauline, son, daughter, sisters and family circle were held by the community and to whom we offer our most sincere sympathy. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

A bus will be leaving Mohill at 11.30am to attend this event to help protect unborn children and their parents. Any suggestion that Ireland is an unsafe place for pregnant mothers because we do not have abortion is a complete distortion of the truth. As a church based on human reason and affirmed by sacred scripture that the life of a mother and her unborn baby are both sacred, the Catholic Church has never taught that the life of the child in the womb should be preferred to that of the mother or the life of the mother preferred to that of the child. You can call 087 7819586/ 086 775036 for more information.
