Trident Swim Club: Trident Swim Club is Carrick on Shannon’s newest and most successful swim club with members ranging from beginners to national squad. We train at Aura in Carrick three times a week and welcome new members up to 18 years of age. Our membership prices are very reasonable and we offer a free trial session to all with no obligation. Bornacoola gaa agm: The Bornacoola gaa club agm took place on Saturday last in Bornacoola Community Centre. A well attended meeting discussed the year gone by on the football field and also looked forward to the year ahead. There were no change at top table and Gerry Clarke will return as manager for another year.

White collar boxing: Clonguish gaa, Newtownforbes, Co Longford are running a white collar boxing event in their sports hall on Saturday 26th January next . Tickets are €10 entry. Music and bar on the night also. For tickets please contact Emma Flynn 087 6464754

Change of Times Community Welfare Officer: A note to hand to let you all know that The Community Welfare Officer will be in Attendance in Dromod Health each Tuesday from 2-30 pm to 3-30pm, this is a change from the original morning slot from 10-30 to 11-30.

New Baby: We would like to send our congratulations to Tommy and Maura Sharkey, Dromod on the birth of their third baby a boy to be named Enda brother to Luke and Ellie born at Mullingar General hospital on Sunday last. We wish you health and happiness for the future.

Leitrim supporters club launch: A note to hand to let you know that the official launch of the annual Leitrim supporters club draw will take place on Wednesday January 16th in the Celtic Suite in Croke Park (Level 5) at 8pm. The draw will be officially launched by Leitrim’s own Seamus O’Rourke. For those travelling by car the entrance is from the Cusack Stand car park which is free. Bornacoola Youth Club: The Hive is back in action for the New Year. Thus week is drop in for teen club on Thursday evening and Friday is senior club and teen club. Some upcoming events are music nights for all clubs definite dates will be confirmed at a later date and our annual outing to The Backstage Theatre for the panto, again more information next week once dates are confirmed.

Packie Duignan Weekend: Friday 25th January opening session Gunning’s 9pm. Saturday 26th music workshops in Arus Padraig 11am to 4pm. Flute/Whistle tutor Yvonne Ward, Bodhran tutor Niamh Ward, Bouzouki tutor Sven Paetz, Fiddle tutor Bríd O’Keeffe, Mouth Organ tutor Orla Ward.   Youth session Berry’s Tavern 4.30pm. gaa club draw: The Bornacoola gaa club draw tickets 2013 are out and on sale. We would ask all members as this is our main fundraiser for the year to please support. €20 for yearly ticket.

Annaduff gaa: Annaduff gaa will hold their agm this Saturday Jan 19th in the Community Centre at 8pm. All members and intending new members are welcome.
